Leather makes up a significant percentage of the furniture sold today and if cared for in the correct way, it can give many years of useful service. When you purchase your suite, you are given little or no information on how to look after it. Leather is LOW maintenance, not NO maintenance.
Today’s modern tanneries produce leather of differing qualities, in a variety of colours, textures and finishes to compliment your home . All can be cleaned and cared for. This will maintain the look, the feel and will extend the life of your leather. It will also save you money.
Rest assured, no matter what kind of leather you may have, we have the expertise and training to clean and protect and even re pigment or dye your leather.
What you can expect from us?
A careful pre inspection of your leather, in minute detail.

We will then apply a free protector.
We will explain and show you how to care for your leather.
Using inappropriate cleaning methods, some of which are listed below, can be very costly to put right.
Baby wipes These will break down the finish and are the worst thing you can use on leather.
Saddle Soap Not to be used on modern finished leather.
Washing up liquid Contains so much salt, it will break down the finish.
Furniture polish/ silicones Stops transpiration, the natural process that allows moisture to be absorbed and released, so the leather will dry out and crack.
Oils Will absorb into leather and cause staining. Will also leave a sticky residue that attracts more soiling and push it further and further into the leather.
Waxes Will cause a sticky residue and attract more soiling causing more damage.
Hairspray Can cause a stain to migrate making it even harder to remove.
Toothpaste Crazy but it will make your leather smell minty for a while.
Milk Another one from crazy land but it will make your leather smell of sour milk more or less forever.
Nail varnish remover/ acetone Will remove the finish and the pigment.
Solvents Can remove the pigment from your leather and damage the finish.
WD40 I will leave that one to you!
The simple fact is, to look after your leather is not as expensive as you might think, with the correct professional care and cleaning techniques.
