FAQ

Q Do you really guarantee all your work?

A Yes all clients receive a written 100% no quibble guarantee before any work commences.

Q Is the price you quote the price I pay, with no hidden charges?

A  Without question. You will receive a written quote. It is the final price.

Q Do you move furniture.

A Yes. All we ask of you is to remove all breakables and things of sentimental value.

Q What can I expect if you clean?

A We will pre inspect your carpet or furnishings. Then all carpets or furnishings are pre groomed and pre vacuumed, using a high filtration vacuum. We will pre spot if needed to assist in removing any difficult spots or stains. A pre- spray is then applied, but only after tests are carried out, to make sure there are no problems, such as dye migration or dye loss. The pre-spray is then agitated into the fibres and left to dwell; this will lift and suspend the soils in an aqueous solution. The solution is then rinsed from the carpet or furnishings (again only after pre testing for any problems) and left at the correct PH. Post spot if needed and/or a final grooming to leave the item cleaned looking fabulous!

Q How long will it take for my carpets to dry?

A We aim to have your carpets touch dry before we leave.

Q How long will it take to clean my carpet?

A This all depends on the amount of soiling, the size of the room and the amount of furniture that has to be moved. We do not cut corners we clean them!

Q How long will it take to clean my upholstery?

A  As a rule, 3 hours. All fabrics are delicate and some fabrics are more delicate than others. It may be worn or have lost its strength through ozone bleaching or a multitude of other reasons. These will be discussed with the client so the client can make an educated decision, with all the advice available.

Q How long will it take to dry?

A We aim to dry your suite before we leave, although drying time depends on fabric, filling etc.

Q Are you insured?

A Yes, we have full Public Liability and Treatment Risk Insurance. We also have Employers Liability Insurance.

Q Why have my carpets cleaned?

A All carpets act as a filter and will improve your indoor air quality by holding onto the dust, oily soils etc. Then all the soils will act as an abrasive and prematurely wear the fibres of your carpet. Regular professional cleaning will result in making the carpet last longer and look better for longer. All carpet manufacturers recommend periodic cleaning depending on individual circumstances. Failure to do so and/or the use of improper cleaning solutions or cleaning techniques could invalidate any guarantee you may have.

Q Do you have references from previous clients that I can inspect, and can I speak to them?

A Yes we have references and clients telephone numbers.

Q Have you had a CRB check?

A Yes – it can be viewed by any client.

Q Are you fully trained?

A Yes I have attended the comprehensive NCCA course in Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning and passed examinations. I am a full member of the NCCA. My company is IICRC certified. I myself am certificated in carpet cleaning, upholstery and fabric cleaning, leather cleaning, colour repair (the dying of carpet and fabric), fire & smoke restoration and odour control. I am also trained by LTT to dye and re pigment leather.
Prospective clients are always offered the opportunity of inspecting my certificates, insurances, testimonials etc before they decide to employ my services.

Q Who are the NCCA?

A The National Carpet Cleaners Association. They set the minimum standards (do not confuse minimum with low), for all members. All members must have attended and passed the course as laid out by the association. All members are insured. (I would trust a novice NCCA member on their very first clean more than an uneducated cleaner with 20 years or more experience).

Q What is the IICRC?

A The IICRC is The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification. It is a worldwide nonprofit organization, owned by member countries, which include the UK, USA, Japan, Belgium, New Zealand, Germany, France, Holland, Australia.

The IICRC is an organization that certifies individuals and firms that have demonstrated expertise and a commitment to ethical business practices in the cleaning and restoration industry. The IICRC also sets standards in the industry and publishes manuals that are used by industry professionals, by government agencies and to help decide law suits.
Individuals wishing to be certified must take approved courses from the IICRC accredited schools and pass rigorous examinations. New Dawn is proud to have certifications from the IICRC and to be a certified firm.
No company is allowed to carry out a service that they are not qualified to carry out and remain certified by the IICRC.

Q I have a new baby - can you sanitize my carpet and suite?

A To sanitize means to clean or make more hygienic. Wash your hands, they are sanitized. If you mean can you sterilize my carpet and suite, the simple answer is it is impossible. No one can.
